About
New York/Boston based soprano Stephanie Foster has begun a vibrant artistic career as a multifaceted musician and teacher. After having started piano lessons at age 6, she continued to pursue the arts through theater, dance, choirs, and speech and debate. She then graduated with a BA in Music from Connecticut College, where she began singing supporting roles and chorus with Connecticut Lyric Opera, while performing in numerous musical theater productions ranging from Carousel to Spring Awakening. She went on to obtain both a Master's Degree and additional Performance Certificate from the Manhattan School of Music.
Over the past several years, Stephanie has been awarded a variety of performance opportunities in the United States and Europe, from full scale operatic and musical theater productions to recital and oratorio. Most recently she made her company debut with Teatro Lirico D’Europa as Zerlina in their 2025 production of Don Giovanni, after having professionally debuted the role in 2023 with Connecticut Lyric Opera . She will be performing with Teatro Lirico D’Europa again in January 2026 as Frasquita in Carmen.
Other operatic credits include Miss Jessel (The Turn of the Screw), Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni), Frasquita (Carmen), Musetta (La Bohème), Morgana (Alcina), Papagena and Erste Dame (Die Zauberflöte), Adele (Die Fledermaus), and Despina (Così fan tutte).
Equally comfortable on the concert stage, Stephanie has been featured as a soloist in Holiday Pops concerts with the Vista Philharmonic and Hillyer Festival Orchestras, including Salem, Massachusetts’s 2025 4th of July celebration, which drew a crowd of several thousand people. She has also appeared in concert with Connecticut Lyric Opera, Riverside Opera Company, and in multiple locations in both the US and Italy for presentations of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater.
In addition to performing, she has taken on projects in the production realm, most notably serving as assistant stage director for operas at Manhattan School of Music and the Aspen Music Festival. Stephanie also has a passion for teaching young artists. One of her fondest memories from her time at Manhattan School of Music was participating in the school’s Opera Outreach Program, where she and her colleagues wrote an original piece of educational musical theater based on Mary Poppins, to tour NYC schools and teach children about opera. She and is an active music teacher and tutor, specializing in voice, piano, music theory, and ear training, with students ranging from age 5-middle age.
